Japanese Proverb

I heard this proverb today: “If you wait by the river long enough, you’ll see the body of your enemy float by.”

I've always said that I believe in destiny and that if you are a good person who treats others kindly you will be treated so in kind.  I found this proverb to be an interesting take on that.

Chakra

A wonderful yogi inspirator once said "When we go with the flow of life, we connect to our second Chakra, Swadhisthana Chakra, and the element of water. We can learn a lot from water. When a large rock or obstacle is thrown into a stream of water, the water finds new avenues to flow around it and over it. As we encounter obstacles on our path we too can find creative avenues to explore so that we may continue on our path.

An epiphany

Definition: a sudden, intuitive perception of or insight into the reality or essential meaning of something, usually initiated by some simple, homely, or commonplace occurrence or experience.

Today I had one.  To make something happen, you have to start the wheels in motion and not leave your destiny in anothers hands.  It may be difficult but change is never easy.  However change is a good thing.  It keeps us moving forward, building momentum for the next great thing.

Who are you?

Do you ever look at someone and wonder who they really are?  To me some people seem so fake.  So much so that I wonder if they even know who they are.

Just an observation. But something to think about next time you encounter that someone.

What does it take?

My daughters are so completely different.  The oldest aims to please, the youngest aims to give me more gray hair.

What does it take to get through to her?  That is still the question.  Her birthday is in two days and she is in danger of having it postponed just  because the month long struggle to get her to pick up the messiest room ever has come to an insurmountable pile that the cat is even afraid of.  We have taken away all electronic privileges, tv, ipod, grounded her to her room, and even started charging her for the chores that are not being done.  My husband went so far as to remove the door from its frame in her room just so she couldn't hide and pretend she was working.  She missed a field trip with the girl scouts yesterday, has not been able to go to the local carnival this weekend, not gotten to play with her friends, and yet nothing seems to phase the child.

I remember shaking in my shoes when my parents were displeased with me.  She seems to just laugh in the face of adversity.  What does it take?  Will we have to postpone her birthday?  I hope not, but stay tuned!
